**Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 9, 2024** – A consultation on the implementation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. Organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and the Sakhi Women’s Resource Centre, the event aims to address challenges in implementing the Act.

The consultation will feature presentations from several legal professionals, including judges, police officials, and health experts. Topics will cover gaps in investigation, medical examination procedures, child-friendly trial processes, infrastructure needs, legal aid provisions, the role of prosecutors, and rehabilitation/victim compensation. Discussions will also highlight challenges related to ensuring child-friendly trials and infrastructure.

Speakers include prominent figures such as Additional District and Sessions Judge (POCSO) Shibu M.P., who will inaugurate the event, and several other judges, police officials, health services representatives, and child rights advocates.
