Mon Dec 09 16:30:20 UTC 2024: ## Kerala State School Arts Festival to Feature Tribal Dances for the First Time

**Thiruvananthapuram, December 9, 2024** – The 63rd Kerala State School Arts Festival will showcase tribal dance forms for the first time, adding a new dimension to the annual event. Scheduled for January 4-8, 2025, in Thiruvananthapuram, the festival will feature 241 events across various venues.

This year’s festival will include Mangalam kali, Irula dance, Paniya dance, Malapulaya aattam, and Paliya nritham, alongside traditional performances. The events are divided between High School (101), Higher Secondary (110), Sanskrit (19), and Arabic Arts (19) categories.

An organizing committee, headed by Food and Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil, has been formed to oversee the event. Nineteen sub-committees, each led by people’s representatives, will manage different aspects of the festival. Venues have been secured across the city, with the Central stadium as the main venue and Putharikandam grounds designated for food service. All necessary tenders, including food services, will be finalized before December 18.

The festival logo, designed by Aslam Thiroor, has been selected. Accommodation arrangements have been made for judges and officials in city hotels, while 25 schools will host student participants. The organizers are also considering illuminating the city from Kanakakkunnu to East Fort. A QR code system will guide students to different venues, with information displayed at the Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station and bus stand. Help desks will also be set up at these locations.
