**Hyderabad, December 8, 2024** – Three members of the management of Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad have been arrested following a stampede on December 4th that resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi. Her eight-year-old son was hospitalized as a result of the incident.
The arrests include theatre owner M. Sandeep, senior manager M. Nagaraju, and Gandhakam Vijay Chander, who was in charge of the lower balcony where the stampede occurred. The incident took place during a screening of the Telugu film *Pushpa 2*, with the large crowd spurred by the unexpected arrival of the film’s star, Allu Arjun.
Police allege that neither the actor’s team nor the theatre management provided prior notification of the actor’s visit. Furthermore, despite knowing of his impending arrival, no additional security measures were implemented to manage the influx of people. According to Chikkadpally ACP L. Ramesh Kumar, the situation worsened when the actor’s personal security team pushed the crowd entering the lower balcony.
The arrested individuals have been remanded to judicial custody, and police are continuing their investigation to determine if Allu Arjun bears any responsibility for the incident. Chikkadpally Inspector Raju Naik stated that legal opinion will be sought before further action is taken against the actor. Attendance at the theatre has significantly decreased since the incident.
