Sat Dec 07 16:11:31 UTC 2024: ## NMDFC and DICCI Partner to Boost Entrepreneurship Among Marginalized Communities

**New Delhi, December 7, 2024** – The National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) and the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to empower entrepreneurs from marginalized communities. The initiative aims to foster economic growth and create job opportunities within these groups.

Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating that it is a crucial step towards building an “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India). The Minister emphasized the transformative potential of entrepreneurship in improving lives and communities nationwide.

Since its establishment in 1994, the NMDFC has provided over ₹9,000 crore in concessional credit, impacting more than 24 lakh families from minority communities. DICCI, known for its work in promoting entrepreneurship among marginalized groups, will play a key role in identifying potential entrepreneurs who will receive financial support through the NMDFC.

The MoU includes provisions for concessional credit to DICCI-identified entrepreneurs and joint awareness programs to promote sustainable development. Both organizations will also collaborate on advocating for policy reforms to further support this initiative.
