Sun Dec 08 04:10:00 UTC 2024: **UFC 311 to Feature Double Championship Main Event in January**
**INGLEWOOD, CA –** The UFC announced a stacked card for its first pay-per-view event of 2025. UFC 311, set for January 18th at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, will feature two championship bouts in the main and co-main events.
Islam Makhachev, the UFC’s No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter, will defend his lightweight title against No. 1 contender Arman Tsarukyan. Their rematch promises a thrilling encounter, as Tsarukyan pushed Makhachev to his limits in their 2019 clash. Makhachev, riding a nine-year undefeated streak, aims for his 13th consecutive lightweight victory and a record five lightweight title defenses.
In the co-main event, Umar Nurmagomedov will challenge reigning bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili. Nurmagomedov, undefeated in 18 professional fights and a cousin of former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, secured his title shot after defeating Cory Sandhagen. Dvalishvili, known as “The Machine,” will defend his title after a dominant win over Sean O’Malley. The card also includes a highly anticipated light heavyweight rematch between former champions Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka, as well as a matchup featuring Kevin Holland against Reinier de Ridder.
