**Gurvayur, Kerala:** Actor Kalidas Jayaram, son of renowned Malayalam actor Jayaram, married his longtime girlfriend Tarini Kalingarayar in a private ceremony at the sacred Gurvayur Sri Krishna Temple this morning. The wedding took place between 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM, under the temple’s flagstaff in a specially arranged mandapam. Kalidas, visibly emotional, exchanged garlands and tied the sacred thali around Tarini’s neck.

Jayaram, visibly moved, was seen shedding tears as he witnessed his son’s wedding. He and Parvathy, Kalidas’s mother, along with his sister Malavika Jayaram, offered prayers and blessings to the newlyweds. The couple performed the customary circumambulation of the sacred fire before exiting the mandapam.

The ceremony was attended by close family and friends, along with prominent figures from the film industry and politics. Union Minister Suresh Gopi, Minister Muhammed Riyaz, and Major Ravi were among those who offered their congratulations to the couple.

Following the morning ceremony, the couple, along with Jayaram and Parvathy, are expected to travel to Chennai this evening. A wedding reception is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11th, in Chennai.

Kalidas and Tarini’s union marks the culmination of a three-year courtship. In a pre-wedding function on Friday, Jayaram expressed his joy, stating that he welcomes Tarini not just as a daughter-in-law, but as a daughter. Suresh Gopi had earlier described the wedding as a long-cherished dream for the Jayaram family. The pre-wedding function was a more intimate affair, attended only by close relatives and friends.
