**Damascus, Syria –** The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued a strong advisory urging all Indian citizens to avoid all travel to Syria with immediate effect. The warning, issued on June 12th, 2024, cites the prevailing unstable security situation within the country.
Indians currently residing in Syria are advised to contact the Indian Embassy in Damascus via emergency helpline +963 993385973 (also accessible via WhatsApp) or email at hoc.damascus@mea.gov.in for updates and assistance. The MEA strongly encourages those able to do so to depart Syria via commercial flights as soon as possible.
