Sat Dec 07 14:40:45 UTC 2024: ## UP Deputy CM Announces Tech-Driven Plans for 2025 Prayagraj Mahakumbh
**Vijayawada, December 7, 2024** – Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya today announced ambitious plans for the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025, leveraging advanced technology to manage the expected influx of over 450 million pilgrims. The event, recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, will run from January 13 to February 26, 2025.
Mr. Maurya detailed a ₹7,000 crore budget allocated for the Kumbh Mela, stating that further funding would be secured as needed. The focus, he emphasized, is on a “swachh, swasth, suraksha and harit” (clean, healthy, safe and green) event. Initiatives include the elimination of single-use plastic through the establishment of leaf-plate shops and school-based awareness campaigns.
Extensive healthcare provisions are planned, including a 100-bed hospital at the Parade Ground, alongside smaller facilities strategically located throughout the Kumbh Mela grounds. A large team of specialist doctors will also be deployed.
Technology will play a crucial role in managing the massive gathering. Mr. Maurya highlighted the development of a dedicated website and app, an AI-powered chatbot available in 11 languages, QR-based passes, a digital lost-and-found center, drone-based surveillance, and an integrated control command center. Other technological solutions include a software for land and facility allocation, an automated ration supply system, and the integration of all locations onto Google Maps. Smart parking facilities and clean drinking water access will also be provided.
Former UP Minister Siddharth Nath Singh joined Mr. Maurya at the press conference announcing these plans.
