**KALABURAGI, Karnataka –** Government officials, political leaders, and civil society organizations across the Kalyana Karnataka region observed the 68th Mahaparinirvan Diwas on Friday, commemorating the death anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution.

In Kalaburagi, senior officials including the Regional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, City Police Commissioner, and Superintendent of Police, paid tribute at Jagat Circle. Similar tributes were paid in Ballari by local officials.

At a commemorative program at Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University (VSKU) in Ballari, social activist Akshatha K.C. lauded Ambedkar’s fight for social justice and equality, emphasizing his contributions to uplifting marginalized communities and advocating for women’s rights. VSKU Vice-Chancellor M. Muniraju hailed Ambedkar as a global leader and announced the university’s plans to establish a center to assist students from backward classes in competitive exam preparation. The day’s events highlighted Ambedkar’s enduring legacy and the ongoing commitment to his ideals of social equality and justice.
