**Chennai, December 7, 2024** – East Bengal FC midfielder Saul Crespo was stretchered off the field during their Indian Super League (ISL) match against Chennaiyin FC on Saturday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The injury occurred around the 56th minute following a foul.

Despite the injury, Crespo had earlier assisted East Bengal’s opening goal, scored by PV Vishnu in the 54th minute. East Bengal went on to win the match, moving them to 11th place in the ISL standings.

Head coach Oscar Bruzon stated that Crespo suffered a muscle pull and preliminary scans are scheduled for Monday. He anticipates Crespo will be out for at least two weeks. The team will hope to capitalize on upcoming home games to improve their league position. Their next match is against Odisha FC this Thursday.
