**Dubai, UAE:** India’s Under-19 cricket team secured a resounding victory over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup semi-final, setting up a final clash against Bangladesh on December 8th. India chased down Sri Lanka’s 173 with ease, reaching the target at 175/3 with 120 balls remaining.

The star of the show was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a sensational 67 runs off just 36 balls, his second consecutive half-century in the tournament. Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old from Bihar, reached his fifty in a mere 24 balls, showcasing remarkable power hitting. Nikhil Mhatre also contributed significantly with a quick 34. Captain Mohammad Aman remained unbeaten on 25, and C Andre Siddharth provided support with an unbeaten 22.

Earlier, India’s bowlers had restricted Sri Lanka to 173 in 46.2 overs. Chetan Sharma led the bowling attack, picking up three wickets. Kiran and Ayush also claimed two wickets apiece. Sri Lanka’s innings was largely salvaged by Sharujan and Lakveen, after a shaky start which saw them lose three early wickets.

In the first semi-final, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets, bowling out their opponents for 116 in 37 overs. Pakistan’s openers failed to score, and four batsmen were dismissed for ducks.

India’s journey to the final has been remarkable, following an initial loss to Pakistan. They bounced back strongly, defeating Japan and UAE in their subsequent league matches to secure a place in the semi-finals. The final match will be played in Dubai and will mark India’s ninth attempt at winning the U-19 Asia Cup.
