Fri Dec 06 15:28:48 UTC 2024: ## BJP Leader Raja Criticizes DMK and State Government Over Flood Response and Adani Protest Absence

**Karaikudi, December 6, 2024** – BJP senior leader H. Raja sharply criticized the DMK on Friday for its absence from the Adani group protests in New Delhi, accusing the party of double standards. Speaking to reporters after paying tribute to B.R. Ambedkar, Raja suggested the DMK’s actions were driven by a lack of conviction.

Raja also heavily criticized the Tamil Nadu state government’s handling of recent floods, calling the disaster management a “complete failure.” He highlighted the deaths of seven family members in Tiruvannamalai due to a cave-in and the deaths of three people in Chennai allegedly from contaminated water, questioning the government’s preventative measures and the minister’s response. He predicted widespread public disappointment will impact the upcoming general elections.

Dismissing Congress claims of the BJP attempting to alter the Constitution, Raja countered that such accusations were baseless, citing Priyanka Gandhi’s symbolic oath-taking with a Constitution book as a mere “drama.” He drew a parallel between the situation and Indira Gandhi’s actions during the 1975 Emergency.

When questioned about Prime Minister Modi’s absence from Manipur, Raja redirected the query to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, asking why he hadn’t visited Kallakurichi district following the deaths of over 60 people due to illicit arrack consumption.
