**Bengaluru, India (December 7, 2024)** – The Karnataka Cabinet has approved Phase 3A of Bengaluru’s Metro Red Line, a ₹28,405 crore project extending the line 37 km from Hebbal in the north to Sarjapur in the southeast. The project, which includes both elevated and underground sections, will connect key areas such as Koramangala, Dairy Circle, Bellandur, and the Central College area. The proposal will now be sent to the Union Cabinet for final approval, as the central government holds a 50% stake in Namma Metro. The planned route will feature a total of 26 stations, with 15 elevated and 11 underground. While the detailed project report (DPR) may undergo minor revisions, the project is expected to significantly improve connectivity across Bengaluru.
