Sat Dec 07 04:29:31 UTC 2024: ## 10 Dead, Dozens Injured in Uttar Pradesh Road Accidents
**Pilibhit/Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh:** At least ten people were killed and several others injured in two separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit and Chitrakoot districts early Friday morning.
In Pilibhit, a Maruti Ertiga car carrying eleven passengers from Khatima, Uttarakhand, crashed into a tree near Neoria Police Station. Five occupants died – three at the scene and two later at the hospital. Four others were referred to a higher medical facility for treatment, while two were discharged after receiving first aid. The passengers were returning from a wedding.
Separately, in Chitrakoot, a head-on collision between a Mahindra Bolero and a truck near Raipura Police Station claimed five lives. The accident occurred around 5:30 AM. The Bolero, carrying eleven people from Prayagraj, collided with a truck traveling from Raipura. Five occupants of the Bolero died, while the others are receiving treatment, with some being transferred to the district hospital.
Police have launched investigations into both incidents.
