Sat Dec 07 08:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Han Demands Yoon’s Early Resignation Following National Address

**SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA** – Following President Yoon Suk-yeol’s national address on July 7th, People Power Party (PPP) leader Han Dong-hoon declared the President’s early resignation “inevitable.”

Speaking to reporters in the National Assembly, Han stated that President Yoon had entrusted the party with finding a solution to stabilize the political situation, including the President’s term in office. He asserted that the President’s continued service is impossible under current circumstances.

While Han confirmed the need for an early resignation, he refrained from specifying whether this would take the form of impeachment or resignation. He also declined to comment directly on whether a constitutional amendment to shorten the presidential term would be pursued concurrently, reiterating that the President had entrusted the party with finding a solution encompassing his term.

Han emphasized a commitment to finding the best solution for South Korea and its citizens, adding that he would closely coordinate with the Prime Minister to ensure the smooth handling of national affairs and the prevention of further hardship to the public and damage to South Korea’s international standing.

The National Assembly is scheduled to vote on the impeachment of President Yoon later this afternoon.
