Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – Andhra Pradesh’s Labor Minister, Vasamsetti Subhash, has blamed the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government for the frequent industrial accidents in the state. He visited victims of a recent accident at Thagur Laboratories Pharma Company in Paravada, along with Pendurthi MLA Panchkarla Ramesh Babu. The minister stated that the previous government’s negligence, including issuing permissions without proper safety inspections and misusing ESI funds, led to the recurring incidents. He cited a committee formed by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu under a retired IAS officer which highlighted significant safety lapses. The minister also announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹40 lakh to the families of workers who died in the accident. He assured that stringent measures, based on the committee’s report, would be implemented to improve industrial safety.
