Sat Dec 07 01:29:04 UTC 2024: **Seeman Criticizes DMK Government’s Neglect of Public Welfare**
KOTHAGIRI, NILGIRIS: Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman sharply criticized the DMK government for prioritizing votes and elections over public welfare during a press conference following a party workers’ meeting in Kothagiri on December 6th, 2024.
Seeman accused the government of being unresponsive to the needs of the people, citing examples such as the collapse of a recently constructed bridge, the crumbling infrastructure of government schools and housing, and the inadequate response to recent flood damage. He highlighted the insufficient compensation offered to those affected by the floods and criticized the government’s focus on short-term solutions instead of long-term planning.
He further condemned the alleged misuse of police power, claiming that the government uses the police to suppress dissent and spread misinformation. He specifically criticized the actions of a particular IPS officer, arguing that such behavior reflects poorly on the entire force and is indicative of a larger issue within the governing party.
Despite his criticism of the DMK, Seeman confirmed his invitation to the Ambedkar book release event, commending the initiative and highlighting the importance of Ambedkar’s legacy. He confirmed NTK’s intention to contest the 2026 elections independently.
