**Hyderabad, December 6, 2024** – Telangana has witnessed a dramatic increase in vehicle numbers over the past decade, leading to significant traffic congestion, particularly in Hyderabad. Data released today reveals a 136.98% rise in the total number of vehicles, from 71,52,803 in June 2014 to 1,69,50,414 by October 31, 2024.

The most significant growth was seen in four-wheelers (157.74% increase) and two-wheelers (135% increase). Motor cabs also experienced substantial growth (181%), rising from 49,487 to 1,39,409. Autorickshaws saw a 112.79% increase.

This surge, estimated at 1,500 new vehicles daily, is directly linked to worsening traffic conditions in Hyderabad, according to officials. Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C. V. The sharp increase in vehicles is straining the city’s infrastructure and demanding immediate attention to address the growing traffic woes.
