**Manipal, December 5, 2024** – The acclaimed Kannada play “Ulida Putagalu” was recently performed in Manipal to commemorate Modern Kannada Theatre Day. The production, a collaborative effort between the Sakkari Balacharya Shantakavi Trust (Dharwad), the Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Science (GCPAS) MAHE, and Kirdar Theatre, was staged at the Sarvodaya Hall of GCPAS.
Directed by Revati Nadgir, “Ulida Putagalu” captivated the audience with its compelling social commentary. The cast included notable actors Raksha Pai, Kavya Prabhu, Kling Johnson, Shashikala Rajvarma, Dr. Ram Kumar, and Dr. Vani.
The event also featured a talk by renowned theatre personality Mahesh Dattani, who discussed the evolving landscape of modern theatre and its power to bridge cultural and societal divides.
