**Hyderabad, December 6, 2024** – A 32-year-old inter-state drug peddler, Badar Ram alias Bahadur Gurjar, was arrested by the Maheshwaram Special Operations Team (SOT) and Uppal police in Hyderabad on Friday. Police seized one kilogram of opium worth ₹5.10 lakh from his residence in Ganesh Nagar Colony, Uppal.

Gurjar, a native of Pali district in Rajasthan, reportedly turned to drug peddling due to financial difficulties. He had previously worked in marble works and tailoring. Investigations revealed he purchased the opium in Rajasthan for ₹50,000 and intended to sell it in Hyderabad at ₹400 per 10 grams.

The arrest followed a tip-off, leading to a raid on his residence on December 4th. Police are now working to identify and apprehend his supplier, Laxman Malik, also from Rajasthan, and to trace potential buyers in Hyderabad. A case has been registered.
