Fri Dec 06 07:55:04 UTC 2024: ## ISRO and ESA Partner for Gaganyaan Mission

**Bengaluru, December 6, 2024** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the European Space Agency (ESA) have formalized their collaboration on India’s ambitious Gaganyaan human spaceflight program. A Technical Implementing Plan (TIP) was signed on December 4th at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, securing ESA’s support in providing crucial ground station tracking for all Gaganyaan missions.

This partnership ensures uninterrupted data flow and communication with the Gaganyaan orbital module, vital for monitoring and managing the mission’s operations. The collaboration builds upon a long history of successful joint space ventures between ISRO and ESA, signifying a continued commitment to future collaborative projects.

The Gaganyaan program aims to demonstrate India’s human spaceflight capabilities by launching a three-member crew into a 400km orbit for a three-day mission, with a planned splashdown in Indian waters. The program includes three uncrewed missions, scheduled for launch between 2024-25, followed by the crewed mission slated for 2025-27. The signing of the TIP marks a significant step towards the successful execution of the Gaganyaan project.
