**Adelaide, Australia:** Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh is confident India will extend their lead over Australia to 2-0 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, eyeing a historic series sweep. Following a resounding 295-run victory in Perth, India heads to Adelaide for the second Test, a day-night encounter. This match holds significant meaning, as it’s a return to the Adelaide Oval where India suffered a humiliating defeat in 2020, scoring just 36/9.
Singh, speaking ahead of Friday’s match, expressed optimism: “To win the first Test in Perth is a big thing. I hope that in the second Test, the Indian team plays well and moves ahead with a 2-0 scoreline in the series. It is not easy to beat Australia in Australia, but in the last two tours, India have shown their mettle and won both tours.” He further added his hope for a third consecutive series win in Australia, stating, “I hope India wins and it is a hat-trick of a series win.”
Beyond the upcoming Test, Harbhajan also participated in a World Tennis Cricket League pre-event conference, expressing his enthusiasm for giving back to the sport and nurturing young talent. He highlighted the league’s goal of discovering and promoting cricketers from smaller towns and villages.
