Fri Dec 06 17:56:57 UTC 2024: ## JP Duminy Resigns as South Africa’s White-Ball Batting Coach
**JOHANNESBURG** – Former South African cricketer JP Duminy has resigned as the national team’s white-ball batting coach, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced on Friday. Duminy cited personal reasons for his departure, which is effective immediately. The decision was made by mutual agreement between Duminy and CSA.
Duminy, who played 46 Tests, 199 ODIs, and 81 T20Is for South Africa between 2004 and 2019, was appointed to the role in March 2022. During his tenure, the Proteas reached the semi-finals of the 2023 Cricket World Cup and finished as runners-up in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Speculation is mounting that explosive batsman AB de Villiers could replace Duminy. Reports suggest CSA has already approached de Villiers, although his acceptance of the role remains unconfirmed. De Villiers is currently not involved in any competitive cricket, having stepped away from franchise leagues, including the IPL, despite rumors of a mentorship role with RCB in IPL 2024.
