Hyderabad, Telangana – A case has been registered against Tollywood actor Allu Arjun in connection with the death of a woman, Revathi, at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad. The incident occurred during a premiere show of Allu Arjun’s film “Pushpa 2: The Rule” on December 4th.
According to DCP Akshansh Yadav of Hyderabad Central Zone, the case was filed under sections 105 and 118(1) read with 3(5) of the BNS Act based on a complaint filed by Revathi’s husband, Bhaskar. The case also includes the theater management and Allu Arjun’s security team.
The incident unfolded when a large crowd, including Allu Arjun’s security personnel (estimated at 30-40), surged into the theater’s lower balcony. The sudden influx of people caused a stampede-like situation, resulting in Revathi and her son, Sriteja, losing consciousness due to suffocation. Revathi was pronounced dead upon arrival at Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital in Vidyanagar, while Sriteja is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
DCP Yadav clarified that police were present at the theater, and denied any police negligence in the incident. While the investigation is ongoing, the police have attributed Revathi’s death to suffocation. The ACP Chikkadpally, Ramesh Kumar, confirmed the incident and stated that the investigation is underway. While initial reports indicated the possibility of charges against Allu Arjun, the exact charges remain pending further investigation.
