**Chennai, December 6:** A video showcased at the launch of a new book on Ambedkar has sparked controversy, claiming Adhav Arjunan, Vice General Secretary of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), played a crucial role in the DMK’s victory in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The video, displayed at an event where Vijay, President of the Tamil Nadu Victory Party, released the book “Ambedkar for Everyone,” attributed the bringing of Prashant Kishor, the political strategist, to the DMK campaign to Arjunan.
While the VCK was part of the DMK alliance, Arjunan has been openly critical of the DMK government on several issues, including the handling of the recent floods. The revelation in the video has caused ripples within the DMK alliance, highlighting a previously undisclosed level of influence Arjunan wielded during the election campaign. The event also featured the presence of retired Justice Chandru, who received the book from Vijay. The book was published by Vikatan Publications and designed by Voice of Common, Arjunan’s organization.
