Thu Dec 05 15:08:44 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan’s Sufiyan Muqeem Shatters 15-Year-Old Record in T20 Domination Over Zimbabwe

**HARARE, ZIMBABWE** – Pakistan’s relatively unknown spinner, Sufiyan Muqeem, stole the show in the second T20I against Zimbabwe, smashing a 15-year-old national record in a stunning display of spin bowling. The 25-year-old, playing only his seventh T20I match, claimed an incredible five wickets in just 16 balls (2.4 overs), surpassing the previous best economy rate held by Umar Gul since 2009.

Muqeem’s exceptional performance saw him concede a mere six runs in his spell, securing the title of Pakistan’s most economical T20I bowler. He narrowly missed breaking another record – that of Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan who took five wickets for three runs in two overs in 2017.

Zimbabwe’s innings crumbled under the pressure of Muqeem’s spell and Pakistan’s overall bowling attack, resulting in a paltry 57 all out. Pakistan easily chased down the target in just 5.3 overs, securing a 10-wicket victory and winning the T20I series. The match showcased Muqeem’s meteoric rise and cemented Pakistan’s dominance in the series.
