**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, December 4, 2024** – A Vande Bharat Express train traveling from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram experienced a technical malfunction on Wednesday, causing a three-hour delay. The incident occurred near the Shoranur bridge around 5:45 p.m., shortly after departing Shoranur station.
According to passengers and railway authorities, the train stopped due to an unresolved technical issue. Despite attempts by onboard and technical staff to fix the problem, the train was towed back to Shoranur Junction at 7:35 p.m. to allow for thorough troubleshooting.
A new locomotive was attached, and after safety checks, the train resumed its journey at 8:45 p.m. An additional stop at Angamali station was made to accommodate passengers. The cause of the malfunction will be investigated during scheduled maintenance in Thiruvananthapuram.
