Wed Dec 04 19:17:05 UTC 2024: ## Three Dead in Highway Accident Near Vellore

**Vellore, December 5, 2024** – Three men were killed and one injured in a car accident on the service lane below the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 44) near Konavattam, Vellore, early Wednesday morning. The victims, identified as M. Sowbarsadhik (33), S. Anes Ali (22), and N. Ushman (35), were travelling to Bengaluru for a business trip when their car, driven by Ali, collided with a parked lorry.

Police reports indicate that thick mist caused Ali to lose control of the vehicle and strike the lorry around 4 a.m. The fourth occupant, M. Malik Basha (35), sustained injuries. All four men were relatives involved in the leather business in Chennai.

Passersby and other motorists assisted in rescuing the occupants before the Vellore North police arrived at the scene. Doctors at the Government Medical College Hospital in Vellore declared three of the men dead on arrival. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
