**New Delhi, December 5, 2024** – Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal leveled serious allegations against the BJP-ruled Gujarat state on Wednesday, claiming it has become a hub for drug trafficking. Kejriwal asserted that drugs are entering the country through Mundra Port in Gujarat, processed in factories within the state, and then distributed across several states, including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
This accusation sparked immediate backlash from BJP MLA and Leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta, who countered by blaming the AAP government for the crime situation in Delhi and citing the recent assassination attempt on Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Badal in Punjab as evidence of AAP’s failure. Gupta also accused AAP of avoiding discussions on crucial issues like air pollution and irregularities in the construction of Kejriwal’s official bungalow.
Kejriwal, in response, urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take decisive action, suggesting the inaction is due to the port being under the control of a “friend.” He further emphasized the need for immediate intervention to prevent the perception of government protection for drug traffickers.
The Delhi Assembly also passed supplementary demands for grants totaling ₹77,700 crore, including ₹1,648.7 crore for Delhi Metro’s Phase IV and ₹400 crore for the MLA Local Area Development Fund.
