HYDERABAD, INDIA – A woman died and two others were seriously injured in a stampede outside a Hyderabad theatre during the premiere of the highly anticipated Telugu film “Pushpa: The Rule” (Pushpa 2), starring Allu Arjun. The incident occurred late Wednesday night at the Sandhya Theatre.
Police clashed with enthusiastic fans gathered outside the theatre prior to the screening. The situation escalated when Allu Arjun and director Sukumar unexpectedly appeared, causing a surge in the already large crowd. Police resorted to using batons to control the crowd, leading to the stampede. The deceased woman is a Hyderabad resident. The condition of a child who collapsed in the melee remains critical.
“Pushpa: The Rule,” the sequel to the blockbuster “Pushpa: The Rise,” features Allu Arjun reprising his role, with Fahadh Faasil as the antagonist and Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady.
