**Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh:** The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced the postponement of the PSLV-C59 rocket launch carrying the European Space Agency’s (ESA) solar probe. The launch, originally scheduled for 4:08 PM IST today, was aborted 43 minutes and 50 seconds before liftoff due to a technical snag detected in the satellite.
ISRO has stated that a relaunch attempt is planned for 4:12 PM IST tomorrow from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The mission aims to study the Sun’s corona, its outermost and hottest atmospheric layer. This marks ISRO’s first launch for ESA since 2001.
The PSLV-C59 will carry a 550 kg satellite into a geostationary transfer orbit of approximately 60,000 kilometers. The mission, estimated to cost ₹1680 crore, is expected to last two years.
