Mancherial, Telangana: A Telugu teacher at a government girls’ high school in Mancherial was suspended and subsequently thrashed by parents after being accused of misconduct with students. Sathyanarayana, a Grade 2 Pandit recently promoted to Telugu Pandit at the Zilla Parishad Girls High School, allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior with students, including taking their photos without their consent. He was also accused of secretly photographing and video recording female teachers.
Following complaints from students and teachers to the headmistress, Padmavathy, an investigation was launched by the MEO ( Mandal Education Officer), Malavidevi. Based on the statements recorded, the District Educational Officer (DEO), Yadhayya, suspended Sathyanarayana.
Upon learning of the suspension, several parents confronted Sathyanarayana at the school. He attempted to escape but was caught and beaten with slippers in the market road by the enraged parents. He pleaded for forgiveness before being let go.
The DEO confirmed the suspension, stating that Sathyanarayana’s inappropriate behavior with students and teachers was substantiated during the investigation. The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the safety and security of students in schools.
