**Mumbai, India –** Mumbai will observe a public holiday on December 6th in honor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvana Din (death anniversary). Lakhs of followers are expected to gather at Chaityabhoomi in Dadar to pay their respects.

The state government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have made extensive arrangements to facilitate the large gathering and ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reviewed these arrangements via video conferencing on Tuesday, instructing for initiatives such as a helicopter flower shower over Chaityabhoomi and the establishment of help desks at various railway stations.

Special bus services will operate from December 4th to 7th to transport devotees. Frequent bus services will also connect Dadar railway station to Chaityabhoomi. To further ease travel, twelve special local trains will run on the Central and Harbour lines in the early hours of December 6th (Thursday). These trains will halt at all stations and are scheduled to operate between Parl-Kalyan and Kurla-Panvel. Specific train schedules have been released by the Central Railway.

The extensive preparations underscore the significance of Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and the government’s commitment to providing a smooth and respectful experience for those commemorating his Mahaparinirvana Din.
