**New Delhi:** Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athawale has demanded a ministerial position and a seat in the Maharashtra Legislative Council for his party in the newly formed Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Following a national executive meeting in Delhi, Athawale stated that the alliance that won the recent state elections should reflect unity in government formation. While expressing his acceptance of the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Athawale asserted the RPI’s right to a share of power.

The meeting also passed resolutions expressing gratitude to voters for their support and advocating for the regularization of slums built before 2019, following the government’s regularization of those built before 2011. Athawale further demanded that the government provide five acres of farmland to landless rural poor to address unemployment issues.

Athawale announced plans to meet Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar in Delhi to discuss these issues further.
