**Hyderabad, December 4, 2024** – A jewellery shop owner and three accomplices have been arrested in connection with the murder of a goldsmith in Wanaparthy district, Telangana. The victim, Avvaru Sheshu, was identified after his family saw his picture circulated on social media. Police recovered 780 grams of gold ornaments, over seven kilograms of silver jewellery, and ₹6.53 lakh in cash from the accused.

According to Wanaparthy Superintendent of Police Ravula Giridhar, Sheshu’s body was discovered on November 23rd. The investigation revealed that Deepak Mali, a jewellery shop owner from Nagarkurnool, orchestrated the murder to alleviate his substantial debt. Mali, along with his brother Ramesh and two associates from Rajasthan, lured Sheshu into his vehicle under the pretense of a business trip. They then attacked and suffocated Sheshu before abandoning his body and fleeing with the valuables.

Surveillance footage played a key role in the investigation, showing Mali following Sheshu. Mali initially denied involvement but later confessed to the crime. The three accomplices were apprehended based on his confession. The four accused are currently in police custody. The case highlights a brutal crime motivated by financial desperation.
