Tue Dec 03 19:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Razorbacks Backup Quarterback Malachi Singleton Enters Transfer Portal

**FAYETTEVILLE, AR** – Arkansas Razorbacks backup quarterback Malachi Singleton announced Monday evening that he will be entering the transfer portal. The redshirt freshman made a significant impact during his time in Fayetteville, notably leading the Razorbacks to a dramatic game-winning drive against then-No. 4 Tennessee in October. In that game, Singleton showcased his dual-threat abilities, completing 21 of 28 passes for 358 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 74 yards and another score.

Singleton, a highly touted recruit (ranked No. 388 overall nationally and No. 17 among quarterbacks in the 2023 class), is expected to be a highly sought-after player in the transfer portal. His season under Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino, known for his quarterback development, has likely enhanced his appeal. Before choosing Arkansas, Singleton received offers from numerous FBS programs, including Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Miami, Louisville, and Virginia Tech.

Early speculation points to Florida State as a potential landing spot. The Seminoles recently hired former UCF coach Gus Malzahn to oversee offensive play-calling, and his power spread offense is considered a good fit for Singleton’s skillset.
