**Agra, India** – A bomb threat against the Taj Mahal sent via email to the Uttar Pradesh Tourism office on Tuesday proved to be a hoax, police confirmed. The threat prompted a swift response, with bomb disposal and dog squads deployed to the iconic monument as a precautionary measure. Following a thorough search, however, nothing suspicious was found.
According to ACP Sayed Areeb Ahmad, responsible for Taj Mahal security, the email was investigated immediately. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism office promptly forwarded the threat to Agra Police and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). While the investigation continues, officials have confirmed that the threat was unfounded.
