**Sriharikota, Dec. 4:** The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Proba-3 mission using its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The launch, a collaborative effort with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), ISRO’s commercial arm, is scheduled for 4:08 PM IST.
This will be the 61st mission for PSLV and the 26th mission for the PSLV-XL variant. The 550 kg Proba-3, launched from the First Launch Pad, will be placed into a high Earth orbit approximately 18 minutes after lift-off. The mission aims to provide crucial data for scientists studying solar phenomena and space weather. Proba-3 is expected to gather valuable information about the sun and space weather, marking a significant advancement in space research. The 44.5-meter tall rocket is expected to successfully deploy the satellites into their designated orbit.
