Wed Dec 04 16:53:27 UTC 2024: **BJP Criticises Former J&K CMs, Accuses Them of Divisive Politics**

Jammu, December 3 (HS): BJP spokesperson Dr. Abhijit Jasrotia launched a scathing attack on former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ministers Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, accusing them of engaging in divisive politics during crucial moments in Kashmir’s history and neglecting the principles of secularism.

Jasrotia cited the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s and the 2003 Nadimarg massacre, alleging that these leaders prioritized political gains over justice. He stated that during these dark chapters, the leadership remained silent while the rights and safety of minorities were suppressed. He further criticized Mufti’s handling of the 2008 Amarnath land dispute, questioning her refusal to comply with High Court directives and the subsequent unrest. He asserted that their version of secularism conveniently ignored the plight of those affected by their policies.

In contrast, Jasrotia highlighted the BJP-led government’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” approach, claiming it promoted inclusive development across all communities. He cited examples such as lifting 25 crore people out of poverty and ensuring equal benefits for Gita Devi and Salma Begum as evidence of true secularism rooted in unity and progress. He urged rejection of divisive politics and called upon citizens to support leaders committed to peace, harmony, and the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
