Tue Dec 03 17:31:33 UTC 2024: ## Andhra Pradesh Triumphs Over Kerala in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
**Hyderabad, India** – Andhra Pradesh secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over Kerala in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Group E encounter. Despite winning the toss and electing to field, Andhra easily chased down Kerala’s paltry 87 all out in 13 overs, losing only four wickets in the process.
Kerala’s innings collapsed against Andhra’s disciplined bowling attack. Jalaj Saxena top-scored for Kerala with 27 runs, while Abdul Basith contributed 18. Captain Sanju Samson managed only 7 runs, Salman Nizar 3, and Azaruddin was dismissed for a duck. K.V. Sasikant took 3 wickets for Andhra, with K. Sudharsan, Satyendra Raju, and Bodhala Kumar each claiming two wickets.
Andhra’s success was largely due to the explosive batting of KS Bharat, the Indian wicketkeeper who went unsold at the IPL 2025 auction. He remained unbeaten on 56 runs off just 33 balls, smashing two sixes and seven fours. This follows impressive innings of 63 against Services and 57 not out against Goa in previous matches, showcasing his continued excellent form. Ricky Bhui also contributed 14 runs for Andhra.
In unrelated news, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed concern about the possibility of Rohit Sharma batting lower down the order in the upcoming pink-ball Test match in Adelaide, suggesting it could be detrimental to the Indian team’s performance.
