**New Delhi, India** – Skoda Auto India has officially announced the pricing of its highly anticipated compact SUV, the Kylaq. Launched last month, the Kylaq is now available for booking, with prices ranging from ₹7.89 lakh to ₹14.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are slated to begin on January 27th, 2024.
The Kylaq, offered in four variants (Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige), aims to challenge established players like Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, and others in the competitive compact SUV segment. Skoda encourages potential buyers to test drive the vehicle before purchasing to ensure it meets their needs.
Powering the Kylaq is a 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine producing 114bhp and 178Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Designed with metro city drivers in mind, the sub-₹8 lakh variant is expected to be a key driver of sales.
The Kylaq boasts a sporty design, reminiscent of other Skoda models, with a compact size ideal for urban driving. Features include 17-inch alloy wheels, a choice of six colors (Lava Blue, Tornado Red, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver, Candy White, and Olive Gold), and a spacious interior.
Inside, the Kylaq offers a premium experience with features like dual digital screens, a powered driver’s seat, leatherette upholstery, connected car technology, ambient lighting, and a Canton 6-speaker sound system. Safety is prioritized with six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, Isofix child seat mounting points, and headrests and three-point seatbelts across all variants.
The Kylaq will directly compete with models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Nissan Magnite. However, potential buyers should consider Skoda’s after-sales service reputation, which has drawn some criticism in the past.
