**Hyderabad, India** – Two-time Olympic medalist and badminton star PV Sindhu is set to marry Hyderabad-based businessman Venkat Dutta Sai on December 22nd in Udaipur, Rajasthan. A reception will follow in Hyderabad on December 24th. Pre-wedding festivities will begin on December 20th.
Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, confirmed the news, stating that the families have known each other for a long time and finalized the wedding plans last month. The December wedding date was chosen to accommodate Sindhu’s busy schedule, which includes important tournaments in the new year.
Sai is the Executive Director of Posidex Technologies. The wedding announcement comes after Sindhu’s recent victory in the Syed Modi International Super 300 tournament final, where she defeated China’s Wu Yanyu. Her last international title win was at the Singapore Open in July 2022. Sindhu is the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals, securing a silver at the Rio 2016 Olympics and a bronze at Tokyo 2020. She also reached a career-high world ranking of No. 2 in 2017.
