**New Delhi** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior cabinet ministers viewed the film “The Sabarmati Report” at the Parliament Complex on Monday. The film, starring Vikrant Massey and focusing on the events leading up to the 2002 Godhra train tragedy, was screened for PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, and other NDA MPs. The film’s cast and crew, including Massey, Riddhi Dogra, and producer Ekta Kapoor, were also present.

Following the screening, PM Modi praised the filmmakers on X (formerly Twitter), commending their efforts in presenting their version of the events. He reiterated his previous praise for the film’s portrayal of the incident, stating that the truth eventually prevails over false narratives. The Prime Minister, who was Gujarat’s Chief Minister at the time of the Godhra tragedy, had previously lauded the film for revealing what he termed the “truth” behind the incident.

“The Sabarmati Report,” directed by Dheeraj Sarna, was released on November 15th and has received tax-free status in several BJP-ruled states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana. Lead actor Vikrant Massey expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s support, while producer Ekta Kapoor also acknowledged the significant boost the Prime Minister’s endorsement provides. The film depicts the events surrounding the fire on the Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002, which resulted in the deaths of 59 passengers returning from Ayodhya.
