**Bulawayo, Zimbabwe:** Pakistan dominated the first T20I against Zimbabwe, securing a convincing 57-run victory on Sunday. The win, achieved largely thanks to strong performances from debutants, gives Pakistan a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Pakistan, batting first, posted a challenging 165/4. Usman Khan contributed 39 runs (30 balls), while Tayyab Tahir smashed an unbeaten 39 (25 balls, including four boundaries and a six). Irfan Khan also provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 27 off 15 balls.
Zimbabwe’s chase faltered, with only opener Takudzwanashe Marumani (33) and captain Sikandar Raza (39) offering significant resistance. The Zimbabwean innings folded for 108 in 15.3 overs, leaving them with a comprehensive defeat.
Pakistan’s bowling attack was spearheaded by debutants Abrar Ahmed (3/28) and Sufyan Muqeem (3/20), who showcased impressive control and wicket-taking abilities. Haris Rauf (2/xx) and Jahandad Khan (1/xx) also contributed to the rout. Tayyab Tahir was named Player of the Match for his explosive batting performance.
This victory follows Pakistan’s 2-1 win in the preceding ODI series. The two teams will now face off in the remaining two T20Is.
