**New York, NY** – Aliya Fakhri, sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, has been arrested and charged with the murders of her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, and his friend Anastasia Star Ettienne. The two died in a Queens, NY fire allegedly set by Fakhri.
According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, Fakhri maliciously set fire to a two-story garage, trapping Jacobs and Ettienne inside. Both victims perished from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. Fakhri has been denied bail.
A witness testified that Fakhri and Jacobs had a volatile, abusive relationship, and that Fakhri had previously threatened to kill Jacobs. The witness, who escaped the fire, reported seeing Ettienne re-enter the burning building in an attempt to save Jacobs. Fakhri’s mother has publicly denied the allegations, claiming her daughter is a caring person. Nargis Fakhri has yet to comment on the charges against her sister. Aliya Fakhri’s arrest comes as her sister, Nargis, is currently filming the final schedule of the Bollywood film *Housefull 5*.
