Tue Dec 03 13:20:17 UTC 2024: ## Mumbai’s Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube Power Mumbai to Victory in Sayed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

**Hyderabad, India –** Star India batsmen Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube spearheaded Mumbai’s impressive victory over Services in the Sayed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) on Tuesday. The duo orchestrated a stunning 130-run partnership, propelling Mumbai to a challenging 192/4 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Despite a slow start from Mumbai’s top order, with Prithvi Shaw dismissed for a duck and captain Shreyas Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane contributing only 20 and 22 runs respectively, Suryakumar (70 off 46) and Dube (71* off 37) launched a blistering assault. Dube’s innings was particularly impressive, boasting a strike rate of 191.89.

Suryakumar’s return to the SMAT followed a two-week break for a family wedding. The T20 World Champion and current T20I captain is expected to continue playing for Mumbai in the remainder of the tournament and will also feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Dube, a white-ball specialist, was not included in the recent India squad for the South Africa tour.

Mumbai, currently fourth in Group E, have secured two wins from three matches and have two remaining league games. The SMAT has attracted numerous high-profile players following the recent T20I series against South Africa, including Hardik Pandya, Iyer, and others. This tournament sees the return to domestic action for many prominent players after the conclusion of the international tours and also provides some valuable practice. Suryakumar previously played in a round of Ranji Trophy in October.
