**Alappuzha, Kerala –** Five medical students died and two others were critically injured in a horrific car accident in Kalarcode, Alappuzha district, Kerala on Monday night. The accident occurred when a car collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus. The impact was so severe that the car was completely destroyed, and the bus sustained significant damage.

Police sources reported that seven people were in the car at the time of the accident. Rescue workers had to extricate the victims from the wreckage. While five succumbed to their injuries, the two survivors are receiving treatment for serious injuries. Passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries.

A video of the accident, which is circulating widely on social media, appears to show the car losing control before colliding with the bus. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. Following the crash, traffic flow on the road was temporarily affected.

This tragedy follows recent fatal accidents involving students, including a similar incident in Dehradun earlier this month where six students died in a car crash. The frequency of such accidents has raised concerns about road safety.
