**New Delhi** – The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has officially announced the date for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. The exam will be held on **Sunday, May 18, 2025**, consisting of two three-hour papers (Paper 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM). Candidates must appear for both papers.

The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has reverted to the previous eligibility criteria, limiting the number of attempts to two. This decision reverses a recent temporary increase to three attempts for the current year.

**Eligibility requirements for JEE Advanced 2025 include:**

* **Birthdate:** Candidates born on or after October 1, 2000, are eligible. A five-year relaxation is granted for SC, ST, and PwD candidates (born on or after October 1, 1995).
* **Class 12:** Candidates must have appeared for their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023, 2024, or 2025, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Those who completed Class 12 in 2022 or earlier are ineligible.
* **Other Eligibility:** Candidates admitted to an IIT preparatory course in 2024 are eligible. However, those whose IIT admission was previously cancelled are not permitted to apply.
