Tue Dec 03 03:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Bengaluru to Host Fourth Annual Green Literature Festival

**Bengaluru, India (December 3, 2024)** – The fourth edition of the Green Literature Festival (GLF), India’s only literary festival dedicated to environmental issues, will be held in Bengaluru on December 7th at the Century Club in Cubbon Park. The all-day event, starting at 9:30 a.m., promises a diverse program for eco-enthusiasts of all ages.

Launched in 2021, GLF aims to foster a deeper understanding of humanity’s relationship with the planet through literature and positive climate action. This year’s festival features approximately 30 speakers, workshops led by organizations like WWF-India and Mongabay India, sustainable product stalls, an awards ceremony, and a significantly expanded children’s program.

Founder Benedict Paramanand highlights the increased focus on children’s programming, with multiple sessions dedicated to engaging young audiences with environmental themes. A key session will feature renowned child education activist Matthew Pye, discussing holistic climate education and training teachers to become climate advocates.

The festival will also include panel discussions on diverse topics, such as conservation challenges in the Nilgiris, the accuracy of environmental news reporting, explorations of Indian landscapes, and rewilding initiatives. Other highlights include sessions on human-animal conflict, birds, iconic Indian trees, and workshops on environmental writing and multimedia storytelling.

Paramanand expressed his enthusiasm for the festival’s growth and expressed hopes to expand it further, attracting increased funding and potentially bringing it to other cities in the future. For more information, visit https://greenlitfest.com/.
