VISAKHAPATNAM, December 3, 2024 – Police in Visakhapatnam are investigating the deaths of a young couple, P. Durga Rao (32) and P. Susmitha (25), whose bodies were discovered Tuesday morning at the bottom of a three-story apartment building in Venkateswara Colony. Authorities suspect the couple, who hailed from Amalapuram and had been living together for three months, may have fallen from their third-floor apartment.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police T. Trinadh, police responded to a call around 5:50 a.m. reporting the incident. Inspector A. Pardhasaradhi of the Gajuwaka police station noted that a broken TV remote and glass were found at the scene, suggesting a possible altercation preceded the fall. Police are examining call data records as part of their investigation.
Durga Rao worked in catering, while Susmitha was employed in the pharmaceutical industry. A case has been registered, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination. Authorities urge anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts to contact the emergency helpline at 100.
